Since a large number of students were regularly emailing us requesting the list of good 20-30 institutes in India giving management education, it was becoming difficult to keep answering these individual emails. Therefore we had thought of systematically compiling at least tentative but a slightly longer list which students can get it on the website itself. This was basically to help them with a larger list and save our emailing load. We did not know how one can prepare such a list. We knew that there are magazines like (a) Business World; (b) Business India, and (c) Business Today, (d) Outlook; and (e) India Today, which at certain frequency brought out respectfully the rankings of institutions, each using its own expertise and assessment criteria. We combined at least 3 of these listings and whichever were the institutes which appeared at least once or more number of times in any of these lists for a given period of time was included in our indicative list without giving any specific ranking to any one, but listing it State-wise for the convenience of the students. This list was then used as some kind of a rough guide. Obviously, there would be institutes which would be in the close vicinity, and one does not know at what point to stop. We never had any difficulty so far from any quarters. However, recently a couple of readers have expressed their sadness over the list. We are a professional website and readers' happiness is of utmost importance to us. Therefore we are withdrawing this feature with immediate effect. We have no stake or personal biases in favor of or against any institution. We respect them all.
