Introduction
Organizations across the world have been
enduring trying times for future survival. Various business models have been tried, many technical cases have been written and deliberated in professional forums. Many organisations rated as Excellent organizations in Fortune 500,
BT 100 list in the past do not continue to figure in later periods. Acadmicians and practitioners continue to evolve new models and practices for arriving at some of the best business cases, thus, generating the lessons of
success and failures for greater learning. On the other hand, the globalisation continues to open up more challenges for indigeneous players to take on with multinationals. Nevertheless, the multinationals struggle to withstand the
challenges posed by the local oragnisations.
Transforming an organisation needs wholesale shifting of resources from what was appropriate for the old idea of business to what is appropriate for the new. Companies like HP,
Intel, AT &T on the global front and Tata Motors, Reliance Industries, Maruti, Infosys, Wipro have gone through the startegic inflection points. They are alive, competing and even winning. They have survived the challenges of
their valleys of death and have emerged stronger. It is time that the Indian organisations surge further into the global economies and create the Global India brand and endure for longer years. What business models will have to be
built? How the past lessons of success and failure can be used as guiding force to face the future challenges? Such questions could be discussed by the delegates and participants during two days of the seminar.
